Wasabi Wallet To Halt Bitcoin Coinjoin Service By June 1

Users of other wallet clients connecting to zkSNACKs coordinator will also be affected.

zkSNACKs, the team behind Wasabi Wallet, has declared the cessation of its coinjoin coordination service, effective from June 1st, 2024.

Despite this, Wasabi Wallet will persist as a standard bitcoin wallet.

CEO expresses gratitude amid closure

zkSNACKs CEO Max Hillebrand expressed gratitude, stating:

It was an honor and a privilege.

This decision follows the recent prohibition for U.S. citizens from accessing Wasabi Wallet’s services.

In an official statement, the company assured users of Wasabi Wallet’s continued functionality as a bitcoin wallet.

However, the discontinuation will affect users of other wallet clients like Trezor Suite and BTCPayServer.
